About the role
- Oversee drawing reviews, CapEx planning, and automation feedback for Welding
- Scope, design, plan, and provide automation guidance for welding across materials and configurations
- Rapidly review drawings for manufacturability and select CapEx for parts and assemblies
- Advise automation team on welding best practices and lead production/inspection line design
- Assist building new factories and contribute to manufacturing processes of new products with welding
- Recruit and lead 1-2 Welding MEs and collaborate with Automation and Factories Leadership
- Deliver cost, schedule, and solutions in partnership with customers and the Federal team
- Own CapEx planning, vendor selection, and costing
Requirements
- Senior Manager or above level technical expertise in Welding production and inspection
- Deep working knowledge of production and inspection methods for Welding
- Able to analyze DFM and review drawings for manufacturability
- Capable of designing and planning Welding production and inspection lines
- Prior experience standing up new Welding lines in Aerospace, Automotive, or other domains
- Able to travel ~25% to DOD and prime facilities
- Capable of leading and recruiting 1-2 Welding Manufacturing Engineers
- Experience with CapEx planning, vendor selection, and costing
- Ability to move quickly and make risk-adjusted decisions
- ITAR eligibility: U.S. citizen, lawful permanent resident, protected individual, or eligible to obtain Department of State authorization
- Software or automation experience helpful (optional)
