Oversee drawing reviews, CapEx planning, and automation feedback for Heat Treatment as part of the Factories as a Service team
Serve as Lead Engineer for scoping, designing, planning, and automation feedback for Heat Treatment across all material types and configurations
Review drawings for manufacturability quickly and select appropriate CapEx for part numbers and assemblies
Advise automation team on best practices for Heat Treatment production and inspection
Recruit and lead 1-2 Heat Treatment Manufacturing Engineers
Assist in building new factories for existing production scope and contribute to manufacturing processes for new products where Heat Treatment is designed-in
Analyse customer drawings and current state of production to design, build, and guide automation of Heat Treatment DFM, Production, and Inspection Lines
Deliver cost/schedule/solutions in partnership with customers and the Federal team
Own CapEx planning, vendor selection, and costing
Requirements
Senior Manager or above level who’s technically in the weeds, with deep expertise in Heat Treatment production and inspection
Able to travel ~25% to DOD and prime facilities
Capable of leading 1-2 Heat Treatment MEs
Able to analyse DFM, and design/plan production and inspection lines for Heat Treatment
Prior experience standing up new Heat Treatment lines in Aerospace, Automotive, or other domains
Ability to move quickly and make risk-adjusted decisions
Can analyse drawings at a technical level and plan Heat Treatment lines or factories from scratch
ITAR requirements: must be a U.S. citizen, lawful permanent resident, protected individual, or eligible to obtain required authorizations from the U.S. Department of State
Willingness to relocate to Los Angeles if not LA-based (relocation stipend offered)
