About the role

  • Customer consulting: First point of contact for customers regarding retrofit, modernization and upgrade projects — particularly in the areas of plant control and mechanical systems.
  • Business development: Proactively approaching existing and new customers about modernization options and technical upgrades.
  • Requirements gathering: Collecting, analyzing and documenting customer requirements, technical constraints and modernization potential.
  • Quotation preparation: Preparing proposals including cost calculations, pricing, inquiries to subcontractors, cost–benefit analyses and accurate post-calculations.
  • Coordination: Close collaboration with sales, procurement and technical departments to deliver technically and economically optimal solutions.
  • Project management (optional): Taking responsibility for managing retrofit and modernization projects — including schedule, resource, budget and risk management.

Requirements

  • Completed technical training or degree, e.g. in electrical engineering, mechatronics, automation engineering, mechanical engineering or a comparable field.
  • Initial to several years of experience in technical sales, engineering, service or project execution — ideally in intralogistics, plant engineering or modernization/retrofit projects.
  • Strong technical understanding of mechanical systems, control or automation technology, and experience analyzing customer requirements and developing technical concepts.
  • Experience in cost calculations or preparing quotations is an advantage.
  • Analytical, structured and self-reliant — you think commercially, identify modernization opportunities and find solutions even in complex projects.
  • Confident customer-facing manner and strong communication skills; good German language skills (min. B2/C1) and English skills are an advantage.
  • Willingness to undertake occasional business trips for customer support and project supervision; driving license (Class B) required.
