About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Develop and execute communications for field audiences, translating complex business updates into clear, timely, actionable messaging
  • Partner with business leaders and subject matter experts on communications intake, planning, content development, audience targeting, distribution, and follow-through
  • Coordinate recurring communications, leadership messaging, and special projects while managing communications calendars and sequencing
  • Serve as primary liaison for intranet platform operations, partnering with IT and cross-functional teams on enhancements, troubleshooting, and user experience
  • Own governance and administration of intranet engagement tools, including feedback channels, comment moderation, and two-way employee engagement
  • Support company-wide broadcasts, test streaming technology, and manage communications during outages or business continuity events
  • Lead audience segmentation strategy and execution
  • Monitor and analyze channel performance, site traffic, news engagement, and search behavior
  • Manage communications content governance, records retention, and archiving processes
  • Support a network of 250+ intranet content contributors through training, guidance, governance, and ongoing support

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field or the equivalent through a combination of education and related work experience
  • Minimum 5 years of related work experience
  • Strong background in technical and operational writing
  • High level of critical thinking and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to connect processes to communications for field audiences
  • Experience managing communications intake, workflow, and approval processes
  • Preferred: experience supporting field-facing or operational audiences in a large, matrixed organization
  • Preferred: communications planning, editorial calendar management, and message development
  • Preferred: familiarity with intranet platforms, digital workplace tools, or communications technology; SharePoint experience is a plus
  • Preferred: ability to streamline processes and build scalable documentation
  • Preferred: strong judgment in prioritizing work, managing ambiguity, and knowing when to escalate
  • Preferred: experience supporting senior communications leaders or working in a high-volume communications environment
