Key responsibilities & impact

Design and deliver scalable, cloud-native applications, services, and platform capabilities
Contribute to reliable DevOps, CI/CD, automation, and infrastructure practices
Apply engineering best practices for code quality, testing, security, and performance monitoring
Collaborate with product managers, architects, and peers to deliver high-value features and improvements
Support H&R Block’s Data Platforms team in building scalable, secure, intelligent infrastructure for analytics, real-time insights, and data integration
Contribute to core platform capabilities and modern software delivery

Requirements

What you’ll need

2–5+ years of experience building software systems
Strong proficiency in modern programming languages, data access patterns, and software design principles
Exposure to automated delivery practices, collaborative engineering workflows, and cloud-based infrastructure concepts
Strong communication skills and a collaborative mindset
Passion for innovation, continuous learning, and mentoring others
Preferred: experience with AI-assisted development tools
Preferred: experience with cloud hosting models, containerized workloads, distributed systems, or serverless application patterns
Preferred: knowledge of event-driven architecture and domain-driven design
Preferred: relevant certifications or demonstrated learning in cloud architecture, software engineering, security, or platform development
Preferred: exposure to AI/ML integration in software products
