About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Support and deputise for the Distribution Manager
  • Ensure the smooth running of the transport operation
  • Lead, develop and manage a team of shift managers, team leaders and clerks
  • Ensure full compliance with transport legislation, operator licence requirements, Health & Safety and food safety (NSF/BRC) standards
  • Work closely with planning, compliance and warehouse teams to optimise fleet and driver utilisation
  • Drive continuous improvement, proactively managing absence, performance, driver debriefs, and resolving driver and customer queries

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Previous experience within a 3PL transport environment
  • Proven experience leading teams in a fast-paced operation
  • Strong understanding of transport compliance, including WTD, digital tachographs, and operator licence requirements
  • Highly organised, proactive and resilient
  • Experience developing people with a structured and detail-focused approach
  • International CPC qualification desirable as there may be a requirement to be on the O License in the future
