About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Support and deputise for the Distribution Manager
Ensure the smooth running of the transport operation
Lead, develop and manage a team of shift managers, team leaders and clerks
Ensure full compliance with transport legislation, operator licence requirements, Health & Safety and food safety (NSF/BRC) standards
Work closely with planning, compliance and warehouse teams to optimise fleet and driver utilisation
Drive continuous improvement, proactively managing absence, performance, driver debriefs, and resolving driver and customer queries

Requirements

What you’ll need

Previous experience within a 3PL transport environment
Proven experience leading teams in a fast-paced operation
Strong understanding of transport compliance, including WTD, digital tachographs, and operator licence requirements
Highly organised, proactive and resilient
Experience developing people with a structured and detail-focused approach
International CPC qualification desirable as there may be a requirement to be on the O License in the future
