Transport Shift Manager
GXO Logistics, Inc.Transport Shift Manager responsible for managing operations and team at GXO's busy Bristol site. Supporting dedicated transport operations and ensuring compliance with customer targets.
About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Daily operations issue management and resolution
- Management of accidents and breakdowns
- Ensuring any issues that threaten the quality of service are escalated to the appropriate management level
- Manage and ensure all legislative requirements are complied with, in connection to health and safety, WTD, O-licence legislation, tachograph laws and employment law
- Controlling and managing all drivers and your team's shift patterns
- Manage, motivate, coach and develop staff to achieve stringent customer targets
Requirements
What you’ll need- Demonstrable experience within a similar role
- Experience supervising a team
- Operational understanding of a transport environment
- National CPC desirable
- Understanding of key operational cost drivers and P&L or cost centre management
- Experience of managing conflicting priorities in a fast-moving environment
- Planning and organizing skills
