Senior Manager – Environmental Health and Safety, Hazardous Chemicals Logistics Operations

About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Lead sustainability, safety, and Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) strategy and actions across multiple facilities
- Drive compliance with environmental regulations to minimize impact on the environment
- Promote continuous improvement efforts across multiple sites to achieve compliance and sustainability goals
- Analyze data, track progress, and prioritize actions needed to achieve targets
- Gain organizational support for initiatives and projects; communicate progress to key stakeholders
- Track and report environmental compliance metrics; develop solutions and respond to evolving regulatory requirements
- Communicate regularly with Operations, Facilities and Leadership on metrics, environmental risks of activities, potential or actual violations, audit results
- Assist with review and investigation of incident reports associated with environmental spills and compliance
- Compile findings and recommendations for corrective actions into summary reports
- Provide insight on environmental governance, risk management and controls to reduce the risk of violations
- Liaise with external environmental regulatory agencies
- Develop, implement and manage EHS key performance (KPIs)
Requirements
What you’ll need- 5 years of progressively responsible experience implementing environmental compliance programs
- 3 years of supervisory/management experience in a team-focused environment
- Experience interpreting and applying state and federal environmental regulations
- Proficiency in MS Word, Outlook, Excel and PowerPoint
- Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science, Environmental Engineering, Sustainability or related field or equivalent related work or military experience
- 8 + years of experience implementing environmental compliance programs
- Project management experience
- 7–10+ years of EHS experience in logistics, chemical handling, manufacturing, or related high‑hazard industries.
- Strong knowledge of OSHA, EPA, DOT/PHMSA, RCRA, RMP, FIFRA and state/local regulations.
- Demonstrated experience managing hazardous chemicals and leading EHS programs at a multi‑site or large‑scale operation.
- Any of the following certifications: CSP (Certified Safety Professional), CHMM (Certified Hazardous Materials Manager), CEM (Certified Environmental Manager), HAZWOPER 40‑hour certification, ISO 14001 and/or ISO 45001 auditor training, DOT Hazardous Materials Transportation certification
