About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Oversee several important areas of supply chain operations
- Communicate with customers, vendors and team members to ensure customer commitments are met
- Demonstrate understanding of GXO’s quality policies and establish procedures for maintaining quality objectives
- Provide guidance to supervisors regarding personnel, quality and safety
- Hire, train, develop and appraise staff
- Recommend programs to improve operations
- Handle equipment and coordinate maintenance needs with the maintenance team
- Ensure records are maintained appropriately and reports are completed in a timely manner
- Adhere to and enforce safe work practices and ensure warehouse compliance with OSHA and other standards and regulations
Requirements
What you’ll need- 4 years of relevant work experience
- Experience with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, and Outlook)
- Experience with computerized scanner equipment
- Availability to work a flexible schedule as needed, including planned and unplanned overtime, which may include weekends
- Ability to lift objects of various shapes, sizes, and weights
- Ability to stand, sit or walk for extended periods of time
- Ability to reach, bend, climb, push, pull, twist, squat and kneel
- Ability to tolerate hot or cold warehouse environments
- Bachelor's degree in Logistics or a related field (preferred)
- 4 years of managerial/supervisory experience (preferred)
- Experience in an AS9100 or ISO environment (preferred)
- Lean, Six Sigma and Continuous Process Improvement knowledge and experience (preferred)
- Experience in warehousing or Third-Party Logistics (3PL) (preferred)
- Ability to maintain a safe work environment by monitoring and enforcing safety procedures across all departments (preferred)
- Strong problem-solving techniques and statistical analysis skills (preferred)
