Administrative Assistant II – General Surgery Residency

About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Provides secretarial/administrative support and departmental services.
- Schedules meetings, prepares audits, maintains attendance and educational files.
- Communicates information to staff members and leaders as required.
- Prepares and displays information in various formats for presentations.
- Answers and screens incoming telephone calls related to patient issues.
- Greets and assists patients and their families.
- Completes and submits financial documents and maintains log of requests.
- Maintains electronic calendars and coordinates schedules for the department.
Requirements
What you’ll need- Five years administrative assistant (or related secretarial) experience required.
- Proficient typist with knowledge of multiple software applications including Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
- Ability to use database programs, internet tools, and data management software.
- High level of communication skills; diplomacy and tact.
- Ability to maintain strict confidentiality.
- Must have strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work well under pressure.
- Associates degree in secretarial sciences preferred; experience can be considered in lieu of a degree.
