About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Design, build, and test infrastructure capabilities for Risk products
- Lead complex projects end-to-end from technical design through rollout
- Partner with Engineering, Product Management, Design, Data Science, and Operations
- Scale Ruby/Rails and TypeScript/React applications
- Serve as a domain expert for Risk platform capabilities
- Set stakeholder expectations and communicate project updates
- Mentor engineers and contribute to a high-performing team
- Identify and execute technical debt and quality improvements
- Participate in on-call rotation and respond to reliability, security, and performance incidents
- Prioritize postmortem action items
- Build tools, patterns, and documentation to improve team productivity
Requirements
What you’ll need- 8+ years of software development experience
- Experience applying AI tools to accelerate development, testing, and documentation
- Ability to direct, review, and correct AI-generated work
- Experience designing, building, and testing production-quality code and architecture
- Experience owning projects end-to-end from technical design through rollout
- Experience coordinating with product, design, and data partners
- Ability to set technical direction and make tradeoffs between competing priorities
- Aptitude for simplifying complex and ambiguous problems
- Ability to communicate technical complexity and facilitate informed tradeoffs
- Enthusiasm for a collaborative, test-driven environment
- Ability to build maintainable, structured, well-documented code
- Experience building fault-tolerant, reliable software
