About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Lead the Sales Analytics team and set its vision across customer acquisition and product expansion sales teams
- Conduct deep-dive analyses to identify revenue drivers and anomalies
- Translate complex data into actionable insights and recommendations for senior leadership and cross-functional partners
- Rebuild foundational data systems with Data Engineering and Service Platform partners
- Align with the Chief Revenue Officer, Sales Operations, Data Engineering, and Service Platform teams on a shared data and infrastructure roadmap
- Evolve sales forecasting methodology using rigorous analytics such as propensity scoring and improved seasonality controls
- Create AI-enabled self-service analytics capabilities for operations partners
- Recruit, mentor, and develop a high-performing analytics team
- Shift the team from reactive query fulfillment toward strategic analysis
- Connect Data Engineering, Analytics Engineering, Data Science, and AI/ML Engineering solutions to revenue-driving analytics
Requirements
What you’ll need- 10+ years of experience in data science or related fields
- At least 4+ years leading a growing analytics team
- Experience with experimental design, causal reasoning, and quasi-experimental methods
- Experience with Salesforce data at scale, including data extraction strategies and CRM-to-warehouse reconciliation
- Proven experience rebuilding messy, tech-debt-laden data environments for long-term scalability
- Strong SQL skills
- Hands-on experience with dbt and Snowflake
- Experience with Salesforce, BI, dbt, and dashboard transformation layers
- Knowledge of pipeline management, forecasting, quota and attainment tracking, acquisition and expansion motions, and cross-sell/upsell analytics
- Experience driving shared roadmaps with platform engineering, data engineering, and sales operations teams
- Experience leading teams through significant transformation and developing analysts
- Experience presenting infrastructure roadmaps and analytical insights to executive stakeholders
- Clear understanding of AI tooling's impact on analytics and analyst roles
- Proven track record building and leading analytics functions in a high-growth SaaS or technology environment
- Ability to work from a Gusto office on designated days approximately 2–3 days per week, or more depending on role, for employees based in Denver, San Francisco, or New York City
