About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Lead all legal aspects of corporate governance, risk, compliance, divestitures, integrations, mergers, and acquisitions including due diligence, structuring, negotiation, and closing
  • Provide legal guidance to executive leadership on corporate strategy, risk, insurance and compliance matters
  • Draft, review, and negotiate contracts including purchase agreements, vendor contracts, employment agreements, and partnership agreements
  • Oversee corporate governance, entity structuring, and compliance across multiple states and operating companies
  • Manage external legal counsel and optimize legal spend and performance
  • Assist in insurance strategy, claims management, and risk exposure analysis
  • Develop and implement legal policies, procedures, and risk mitigation strategies
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations, including labor laws and industry-specific requirements
  • Support HR and leadership on employment-related legal matters, disputes, and investigations
  • Oversee litigation, claims, and dispute resolution processes
  • Provide training to leadership teams on legal and compliance topics
  • Support ongoing integration of acquired businesses from a legal and compliance perspective

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school
  • Active bar membership in good standing (multi-state preferred)
  • Minimum 8–12 years of legal experience, with strong M&A and corporate law background
  • Experience in private equity-backed or multi-entity organizations preferred
  • Strong knowledge of corporate governance, contract law, employment law, and regulatory compliance
  • Experience managing outside counsel and legal budgets
  • Ability to operate in a fast-paced, high-growth environment with evolving priorities
  • Excellent negotiation, analytical, and decision-making skills
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to translate complex legal concepts into business terms
  • High level of integrity and ability to handle confidential information.
