About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • build elegant solutions for the property & casualty insurance industry’s complex business domain
  • use AI-native coding approaches and AI-assisted tools (such as Claude Code or GitHub Copilot) to build, refactor, and extend our services quickly and safely
  • maintain high engineering standards, tests, and observability
  • support PDO’s mission to embed GenAI across our products
  • improve operational excellence, and deliver secure, reliable, and scalable cloud services at scale

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Minimum 2+ years of Software Development experience, preferably in SaaS or cloud solutions
  • Proficiency in Core Java, and good working knowledge of the Spring framework
  • Experience with JavaScript, TypeScript, or Python
  • Experience building microservices on cloud service platforms (e.g. AWS/GCP/Azure) – AWS preferred
  • Experience with containerization and orchestration (Docker and Kubernetes)
  • Experience designing REST or gRPC based APIs
  • Ability to use AI-assisted coding tools (e.g. Claude Code, GitHub Copilot)
  • Good understanding of Object-Oriented Design principles
  • Understanding of relational database persistence (e.g. MySQL, Oracle); familiarity with NoSQL databases (e.g. MongoDB, CouchDB) is a plus
  • Great understanding of CI/CD and DevOps principles; experience with related tools such as TeamCity, Git-based workflows, or Kubernetes is a definite plus
  • Experience with LLMs, LangChain, and/or AI patterns such as RAG or ReAct is a plus
  • Exposure to AI/ML development patterns such as prompt engineering or integrating AI services into production systems is a plus
  • BS/MS degree (Computer Science or related field)
