About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Lead the development, sale, and executive oversight of strategic advisory, technology modernization, business transformation, managed services, and risk management engagements for Investor-Owned Utilities and other energy sector clients
  • Serve as account leader for assigned accounts, developing and executing strategies to deepen executive relationships, increase client value, and drive revenue, profitability, and market share growth
  • Develop and expand C-suite and senior executive relationships
  • Help clients navigate Energy Transition, Technology Modernization, and Business Transformation
  • Identify market trends, client priorities, regulatory developments, and industry disruptions and translate insights into growth strategies and business opportunities
  • Shape, lead, and close complex pursuits, including opportunity origination, qualification, account planning, solution development, proposal strategy, executive presentations, negotiations, and contract execution
  • Integrate Guidehouse expertise, technology, managed services, and industry solutions to address strategic client priorities
  • Provide executive sponsorship and governance for assigned accounts and engagements
  • Drive portfolio and account performance through oversight of quality, financial results, forecasting, pipeline health, risk management, resource strategy, and client relationship management
  • Achieve revenue, margin, bookings, and growth objectives across assigned clients and portfolios
  • Lead annual and multi-year account planning, sales pipelines, revenue forecasts, investment plans, and growth strategies
  • Expand client relationships through innovative solutions, thought leadership, industry insights, and integrated capabilities
  • Support Energy Providers practice growth by identifying market opportunities, developing offerings, and influencing go-to-market and investment decisions
  • Contribute to Guidehouse's market presence through industry leadership, conferences, executive engagement, publications, research, and differentiated points of view
  • Maintain deep energy-sector expertise and relationships with client and industry stakeholders
  • Build, develop, and lead high-performing teams through talent attraction, mentoring, career development, and an inclusive accountability culture

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • 15+ years of experience leading client growth, account management, business development, and strategic consulting within the energy and utility sector
  • Strong market knowledge and relationships in the South U.S. utility market
  • Deep understanding of utility operations, utility operational technology, grid modernization, customer and regulatory strategy, and emerging industry trends
  • Experience leading account strategy, financial planning, forecasting, and portfolio management
  • Accountability for revenue growth, profitability, pipeline development, and long-term client investment decisions
  • Proven record originating, closing, and growing large, complex consulting, technology, and managed services engagements within Investor-Owned Utilities and other energy-sector clients
  • Experience serving as a trusted advisor to C-suite and senior executive stakeholders
  • Experience developing and executing strategic account plans
  • Strong business acumen and ability to translate business needs into innovative, value-driven solutions
  • Ability to develop growth strategies, influence client investment decisions, and position differentiated solutions
  • Ability to lead complex pursuits, including qualification, solution development, executive presentations, negotiations, and contract execution
  • Exceptional strategic thinking, analytical, and problem-solving capabilities
  • Outstanding executive communication and relationship-building skills
  • Experience leading large, cross-functional teams and managing multiple priorities
  • Success developing, mentoring, and retaining high-performing teams
  • High degree of professional integrity, sound judgment, and commitment to ethical leadership
  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university
  • Ability to travel as required
  • No security clearance required
  • MBA, Master's degree, or other relevant advanced degree is nice to have
  • Prior Partner, Principal, Managing Director, Vice President, or equivalent leadership experience is preferred/nice to have
  • Preference for candidates within commutable distance of the Southeast Region
