About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Plan, execute, and coordinate laboratory experiments supporting scientific research activities
  • Implement laboratory techniques, methods, and procedures according to established protocols
  • Perform routine and specialized laboratory techniques for ongoing research studies
  • Operate laboratory instruments, machinery, and equipment safely and effectively
  • Prepare specimens, reagents, samples, and equipment for experimental use
  • Manage, label, track, and store laboratory samples according to storage and safety requirements
  • Analyze experimental procedures and results for accuracy and data integrity
  • Document and report laboratory procedures, observations, and findings
  • Maintain inventory of laboratory supplies, materials, and consumables
  • Clean, sterilize, and maintain laboratory instruments, glassware, and equipment
  • Maintain organized laboratory work areas in accordance with safety and quality standards
  • Adhere to laboratory safety, compliance, and operational guidelines
  • Provide day-to-day operational and administrative support to teams supporting the National Institutes of Health

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor’s degree in a Science field
  • Minimum of two (2) years working in a laboratory environment
  • Experience performing biological research
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office tools (Outlook, Excel, Word, Teams)
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a Federal or DoD Public Trust
  • Approved Public Trust adjudication required before onboarding
  • Active Public Trust or existing suitability preferred
  • Knowledge of laboratory safety practices preferred
  • Understanding of scientific research, organizational structure, and laboratory resources preferred
  • Excellent analytical, organizational, and time management skills preferred
  • Strong oral and written communication skills preferred
