About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Guidehouse is seeking a Director, Chief of Staff to the CXO to serve as a trusted strategic operator and execution partner to the Chief Experience Officer.
- This role will help translate CXO priorities into action across Technology by driving leadership cadence, decision discipline, cross-functional coordination, executive communications, performance management, and follow-through on the organization's highest-priority initiatives.
- This role will serve as a force multiplier for the CXO, helping the organization rapidly assess priorities, frame choices, align leaders, and execute with clarity and accountability.
- The Director will operate at the intersection of strategy, technology, operations, talent, finance, and communications, serving as a confidential advisor and trusted partner to executive leadership and key stakeholders across the enterprise.
- Run the CXO leadership operating cadence, including staff meetings, priority reviews, decision forums, executive briefings, and follow-up discipline.
- Maintain decision logs, action trackers, priority dashboards, and escalation paths that keep leadership aligned and accountable.
- Prepare agendas, materials, pre-reads, talking points, and post-meeting follow-ups that enable crisp executive decision-making.
- Translate CXO priorities and leadership discussions into clear actions, owners, milestones, and measurable outcomes.
- Anticipate organizational, stakeholder, talent, financial, and execution risks; surface issues early and drive resolution or escalation.
- Partner with the CXO to define strategic priorities, operating goals, and leadership focus areas across the Technology organization.
- Frame strategic choices, trade-offs, dependencies, and recommendations in a way that enables timely executive decisions.
- Facilitate executive-level discussions to align leadership around strategic priorities, transformation objectives, operating decisions, and investment choices.
- Evaluate alternatives and develop business cases, options analyses, and decision materials supporting CXO priorities.
- Build frameworks that enable objective prioritization, sequencing, and resource allocation across competing priorities.
- Partner closely with Human Resources and business leadership to assess workforce capabilities and future talent requirements.
- Develop CXO priority roadmaps aligned to strategic objectives, resource capacity, funding constraints, leadership decisions, and organizational readiness.
- Establish operating rhythm, governance structures, reporting processes, and program controls to support execution of CXO priorities.
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor's degree in business, Technology, Information Systems, Organizational Development, Human Resources, Engineering, or related field.
- 12+ years of experience in chief of staff, strategy, transformation, operating model redesign, technology strategy, organizational change, or business modernization roles.
- Demonstrated experience supporting senior executives, building leadership operating cadences, and driving cross-functional execution.
- Proven success developing executive roadmaps, strategic plans, leadership materials, and implementation plans.
- Experience supporting executive-level decision-making processes in large, complex organizations.
- Strong knowledge of executive operations, organizational change management, workforce transformation, and technology modernization principles.
- Exceptional analytical, problem-solving, and strategic thinking skills.
- Outstanding verbal, written, presentation, and facilitation capabilities.
- Ability to communicate effectively with executive leadership and cross-functional stakeholders.
- Highly developed organizational, program management, executive communication, and follow-through skills.
- Ability to manage multiple competing priorities in fast-paced environments.
- Experience developing metrics, governance models, performance monitoring frameworks, and executive dashboards.
- Proficiency with strategic planning, reporting, presentation, and collaboration tools.
- Ability to travel as needed.
- Ability to work independently, collaboratively, and lead cross-functional teams.
