About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- The Patient Account Representative – Medicaid Redetermination is an extension of a client’s business office staff
- Responsible for supporting constituent Medicaid members through the redetermination (renewal) process to ensure continuity of healthcare coverage
- Involves outbound and inbound call support, eligibility guidance, documentation assistance, and accurate account updates in compliance with state and client guidelines
- Complete all business-related requests and correspondence from patients
- Complete all assigned projects in a timely manner
- Assist client and patients in all requested tasks
- Communicate to Guidehouse management areas of concern or areas of improvement
- Update patient demographic information and initiate account adjustments
Requirements
What you’ll need- High School Diploma / GED OR 3 years of relevant equivalent experience in lieu of education
- 0-2+ years working within the following sectors: healthcare, insurance, business, finance or customer service
- Working knowledge can be of the following: insurance claims, billing, coding, follow-up, finance, accounting or customer service-related responsibilities.
- Being Bilingual (comfortable working in both English and Spanish) is preferred
- PC skills in a Windows environment are required
- Knowledge and utilization of desktop applications to include Word and Excel is essential
- 1+ year experience working in a Healthcare or Customer Service setting
- Ability to initiate and follow through on projects and work independently with minimal supervision required
