About the role
- As an Associate Director in Data & Analytics you are responsible for data management, technical delivery, and leading the team of data engineers to execute client work.
- Responsible for data management and governance of defining and enforcing data management standards, owning data quality strategy, building and maintaining curated datasets, and ensuring compliant handling of sensitive data.
- Play a hands-on role in technical coding and delivery, which includes writing SQL and Python code, designing Extract, Transform, Load (ETL) routines, performing code reviews, and conducting root-cause analysis.
- Collaborate with Directors and Partners, keeping them abreast of project progress and important developments.
Requirements
- BA/BS degree in a quantitative field, such as Mathematics, Computer Science, Engineering, Statistics, Business Analytics or related course of study; advanced degree/PhD preferred.
- Minimum 7+ years of prior relevant consulting or work experience working with large global pharma, mid-sized pharma and/or biotech clients.
- Strong understanding of the pharmaceutical industry, including drug development and launch.
- The ability to analyze complex information, quality check results, and develop a structured, data-informed story.
- Excellent communication skills to convey technical execution summaries and insight recommendations to various stakeholders, including senior management.
- Must have subject matter expertise in Data Analytics and possess a strong knowledge of modern datasets and analytics environments.
- Strong foundation across life science functions, including commercial operations, market access, patient services, and medical.
- Exceptional fluency coding in SQL, Python (or other equivalent scripting language), cloud data platforms, and knowledge of life sciences data (e.g., claims, EHR, sales data, formulary and coverage data).
- 4+ years managing technical teams (coders/engineers/analysts) with demonstrated coaching and delivery leadership.
- Must be willing and able to travel to Guidehouse and client sites across the US, up to 10% of the time.
- Demonstrated success formally supervising, coaching and mentoring junior level staff including ownership and guidance of their career development.
- Authorized/eligible to work for any US employer without sponsorship.
