About the role
- Provide consulting on national healthcare reform impacts to state Medicaid and public health programs
- Assist state agencies (Medicaid, Behavioral Health, Developmental and Intellectual Disabilities, State Units on Aging, Social/Human Services) in strategic planning for healthcare reform implementation
- Understand Medicaid eligibility requirements, processes, and systems
- Assess business and technical requirements for program initiatives
- Perform data and qualitative research and document findings with recommendations
- Identify and collaborate with a broad range of healthcare stakeholders
- Manage projects and engagements of various sizes; supervise and develop staff
- Manage client interactions and expectations; provide subject matter expertise
- Help develop business with new clients and participate in firm-building activities
- Remote work status will be considered; candidates ideally based near Tyson's Corner, Washington DC, Chicago, Atlanta, New York City
- Travel required: up to 50%
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university
- Minimum of 5 years of previous work experience
- Experience in the Healthcare Industry
- Strong attention to detail and deliverable preparation
- Strong interest in state health agencies and healthcare reform (Medicaid, public health, health insurance, legislative/executive/governor’s office)
- Ability to travel to meet client needs (10-30%)
- Superior written and oral communication skills (nice to have)
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in related field (healthcare, business, data analytics/computer science, or health policy/public health) (nice to have)
- Strategic problem solver and demonstrated ability to self-manage tasks
- Working knowledge of Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Access
- Ability to work overtime as necessary
- Assure high-quality client work product
