About the role

  • Oversee the architectural development of Stores and SIS design and review all drawings and verify that construction documents are according to the latest approved Guess layouts and concept books.
  • Act as a liaison between the architects (Store Designers and local architect) and general contractor to communicate effectively and responsibly, as the main point of contact, among all parties involved, including, architects, general contractors, Guess country managers, retail teams, legal department and landlords (and client where applicable).
  • Resource allocation, in particular the scheduling of all items provided by Guess’s vendors (all items on ship schedule).
  • General time management, striving to keep project on schedule per predetermined dates.
  • Cost management, striving to keep project within established budget.
  • Monitor work progress with regular site visits.
  • Overall quality management.
  • Ensure clear and timely communication of all relevant project information, timeline and potential risks to all stakeholders.
  • Calculate CAPEX estimation for the preparation of documents for projects submission prior to management approval.
  • Compile reports about various quality issues on Guess vendor supplies.
  • Must be able to negotiate with vendors, GCs and architects.
  • Willing to project manage Stores, Shop in Shop, Showrooms and ad hoc projects if needed.
  • Support the team on department activities: budget and cost analysis, vendor management and finding new suppliers (i.e. fixtures, lighting, flooring) to achieve a better execution.

Requirements

  • Must possess a minimum of (3-5) years of Construction Management experience with a proven ability to service a geographic region.
  • Bachelor of Science degree in either Architecture, Engineering, or Construction Management (or equivalent) is highly appreciated.
  • Proven problem-solving analytical skills with an ability to embrace change enthusiastically.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of retail design, construction and operations.
  • Excellent organization and project management skills: must be able to confront several projects with flexibility in order to ensure a smooth opening regardless of the time constraints placed upon them.
  • Must be able to work cross-functionally with other departments (Real Estate, Loss & Prevention, Finance, IT, Legal etc.).
  • Must have fluent English and Italian; any additional language would be a plus.
  • Excellent with MS Office.
  • Use of AutoCAD to handle and modify 2D drawings is a plus.
  • Willingness to travel abroad (weekly to bi-weekly).
