About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Refine electrical estimating processes and templates for solar PV and battery energy storage system construction
Capture best construction practices, productivity data, and crew resource requirements
Develop, refine, and maintain project cost estimates aligned with RFP requirements
Prepare estimates from conceptual stages through advanced design packages
Maintain databases of means and methods, components, and productivity rates
Collaborate with business development, engineering, procurement, operations, and project delivery teams on bid strategies and project costs
Identify project risks and assist with mitigation strategies
Participate in pre-bid meetings, client discussions, and leadership updates
Conduct site visits as needed
Prepare detailed reports to improve estimate accuracy and project planning

Requirements

What you’ll need

Experience in large electrical commercial, renewable energy, utility-scale solar construction, or related fields
Knowledge of cost estimating best practices and estimating tools or software such as Accubid, InEight, or similar platforms
Proficiency with takeoff software, including Bluebeam
Ability to interpret complex project documentation
Strong understanding of project complexities and construction management principles
Demonstrated ability to develop and refine estimating processes
5+ years of experience estimating utility-scale renewable energy construction projects
5+ years of experience estimating underground electrical construction projects at 34.5kV and above
In-depth knowledge of solar and battery storage systems
Knowledge and experience estimating substation and HV transmission line construction
The position is not eligible for visa sponsorship
