About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Support the refinement of civil estimating processes and templates to improve accuracy and efficiency
Develop detailed civil cost estimates for solar and battery energy storage system (BESS) projects
Maintain estimating tools, historical cost data, and productivity assumptions
Prepare project cost estimates aligned with RFP requirements for utility-scale renewable energy projects
Collaborate with business development, engineering, and project delivery teams to evaluate opportunities and optimize costs
Identify project risks and support mitigation strategies
Participate in pre-bid meetings, client discussions, and estimate review sessions
Conduct site visits as needed and document findings to improve estimate quality and project planning

Requirements

What you’ll need

Experience in heavy civil construction, estimating, construction management, and/or project management
Knowledge of cost estimating practices and estimating software such as InEight or similar platforms
Experience using takeoff software such as Bluebeam, AgTek, or similar tools
Understanding of earthwork, foundations, roads, drainage, and site development activities
Experience preparing or supporting project estimates for construction projects
Experience supporting civil construction projects within commercial, renewable energy, or utility-scale solar environments
Experience working with field and engineering teams to improve estimating accuracy
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Business, or a related field
Experience leveraging generative AI to streamline workflows and improve outcomes
