About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Perform commissioning and testing of substation and interconnect equipment
  • Support the SCADA team with system integration and troubleshooting
  • Maintain accurate logs, checklists, and LOTO documentation
  • Lead or assist in startup and energization of electrical systems
  • Train subcontractors and vendors on safety protocols, including LOTO and Energized Zone
  • Troubleshoot and resolve field issues, including method of procedure development
  • Participate in daily and weekly progress meetings and maintain project documentation
  • Manage small projects independently and lead field service teams on larger efforts
  • Deliver timely service reports and communicate equipment performance insights
  • Perform NETA and NERC testing for outside customers
  • Demonstrate and apply Koch’s Guiding Principles in all work activities

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Willing and able to travel up to 80% and work weekends/holidays as needed
  • Valid driver's license
  • High school diploma or higher with a minimum of 3 years of experience testing, troubleshooting, evaluating, and servicing electrical distribution and control systems
  • In lieu of a high school diploma or GED, completion of an accredited trade school and/or program completion with 7 or more years of experience evaluating and servicing electrical distribution or control systems
  • Experience testing, troubleshooting, evaluating, and servicing electrical distribution and control systems
  • Experience performing power quality measurements, troubleshooting, and analysis
  • Experience with protective relays
  • Ability to work outdoors and comply with project-site physical requirements, including frequent lifting up to 50 lbs.
  • Ability to comply with all safety standards and procedures
  • Legal authorization to work permanently in the United States for any employer without requiring visa transfer or sponsorship
