About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Perform commissioning and testing of substation and interconnect equipment
Support the SCADA team with system integration and troubleshooting
Maintain accurate logs, checklists, and LOTO documentation
Lead or assist in startup and energization of electrical systems
Train subcontractors and vendors on safety protocols, including LOTO and Energized Zone
Troubleshoot and resolve field issues, including method of procedure development
Participate in daily and weekly progress meetings and maintain project documentation
Manage small projects independently and lead field service teams on larger efforts
Deliver timely service reports and communicate equipment performance insights
Perform NETA and NERC testing for outside customers
Demonstrate and apply Koch’s Guiding Principles in all work activities

Requirements

What you’ll need

Willing and able to travel up to 80% and work weekends/holidays as needed
Valid driver's license
High school diploma or higher with a minimum of 3 years of experience testing, troubleshooting, evaluating, and servicing electrical distribution and control systems
In lieu of a high school diploma or GED, completion of an accredited trade school and/or program completion with 7 or more years of experience evaluating and servicing electrical distribution or control systems
Experience testing, troubleshooting, evaluating, and servicing electrical distribution and control systems
Experience performing power quality measurements, troubleshooting, and analysis
Experience with protective relays
Ability to work outdoors and comply with project-site physical requirements, including frequent lifting up to 50 lbs.
Ability to comply with all safety standards and procedures
Legal authorization to work permanently in the United States for any employer without requiring visa transfer or sponsorship
