About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Lead high-voltage substation and interconnection projects from engineering through commissioning and closeout
  • Manage project scope, schedule, budget, risk mitigation plans, and key deliverables
  • Manage and influence EPC contractors, engineering consultants, utilities, vendors, and cross-functional stakeholders
  • Lead technical reviews of substation engineering packages, protection and control designs, equipment specifications, and construction drawings
  • Review and direct high-voltage design documentation, studies, and engineering deliverables
  • Ensure compliance with company standards, industry regulations, and applicable electrical codes
  • Monitor contractor and supplier performance, resolve issues, and ensure contractual and technical compliance
  • Conduct site visits and field assessments to evaluate progress and resolve technical and construction challenges
  • Identify project risks and develop mitigation strategies
  • Communicate project status, opportunities, challenges, and recommendations to senior leadership and stakeholders
  • Support procurement of major high-voltage equipment and materials
  • Identify continuous improvement opportunities and drive best practices across the substation project portfolio

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Experience managing high-voltage substation, transmission, interconnection, or utility infrastructure projects
  • Experience reviewing and interpreting high-voltage engineering drawings, specifications, studies, and construction deliverables
  • Knowledge of substation design, construction practices, protection and control systems, and utility interconnection requirements
  • Experience managing EPC contractors, engineering consultants, and cross-functional project stakeholders
  • Knowledge of NESC, NEC, IEEE, and ANSI standards
  • Valid driver's license
  • Legal authorization to work permanently in the United States for any employer without requiring visa transfer or sponsorship now or in the future
  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or another engineering discipline preferred
  • Experience reviewing physical, protection and control, and relay design packages for high-voltage facilities preferred
  • Professional Engineer (PE) license or progress toward licensure preferred
  • Experience managing EPC contracts and contractor performance preferred
  • Ability to influence technical decisions, manage risk, and drive alignment across diverse stakeholder groups preferred
