About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Lead high-voltage substation and interconnection projects from engineering through commissioning and closeout
Manage project scope, schedule, budget, risk mitigation plans, and key deliverables
Manage and influence EPC contractors, engineering consultants, utilities, vendors, and cross-functional stakeholders
Lead technical reviews of substation engineering packages, protection and control designs, equipment specifications, and construction drawings
Review and direct high-voltage design documentation, studies, and engineering deliverables
Ensure compliance with company standards, industry regulations, and applicable electrical codes
Monitor contractor and supplier performance, resolve issues, and ensure contractual and technical compliance
Conduct site visits and field assessments to evaluate progress and resolve technical and construction challenges
Identify project risks and develop mitigation strategies
Communicate project status, opportunities, challenges, and recommendations to senior leadership and stakeholders
Support procurement of major high-voltage equipment and materials
Identify continuous improvement opportunities and drive best practices across the substation project portfolio

Requirements

What you’ll need

Experience managing high-voltage substation, transmission, interconnection, or utility infrastructure projects
Experience reviewing and interpreting high-voltage engineering drawings, specifications, studies, and construction deliverables
Knowledge of substation design, construction practices, protection and control systems, and utility interconnection requirements
Experience managing EPC contractors, engineering consultants, and cross-functional project stakeholders
Knowledge of NESC, NEC, IEEE, and ANSI standards
Valid driver's license
Legal authorization to work permanently in the United States for any employer without requiring visa transfer or sponsorship now or in the future
Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or another engineering discipline preferred
Experience reviewing physical, protection and control, and relay design packages for high-voltage facilities preferred
Professional Engineer (PE) license or progress toward licensure preferred
Experience managing EPC contracts and contractor performance preferred
Ability to influence technical decisions, manage risk, and drive alignment across diverse stakeholder groups preferred
