About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Promote the Shield™ colorectal cancer blood test to healthcare providers in primary care settings
  • Achieve or exceed sales targets through prospecting, relationship-building, and execution of national sales strategies
  • Build relationships with healthcare providers and gain commitment to adopt Shield for CRC and other cancers
  • Use challenger selling to understand provider needs and demonstrate how Guardant Health offerings improve outcomes and streamline practices
  • Educate and train primary care practices on products and support stakeholder adoption and workflow integration
  • Collaborate with clinical, marketing, and product teams on sales strategies and business plans
  • Identify new business opportunities within the assigned territory
  • Foster collaborations with regional and local laboratories to expand reach and ensure phlebotomy draw agreements
  • Develop and execute business plans supporting launches of new cancer screening technologies
  • Analyze market trends, competitor offerings, and customer feedback
  • Report insights and opportunities to the Commercial Team and leadership
  • Provide high-touch customer service and proactively resolve issues throughout the sales process
  • Ensure compliance with company policies, industry standards, and regulations while managing projects and deadlines

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Minimum of 4 years of customer-facing sales experience in the healthcare industry (diagnostics, medical device, or pharmaceutical sales), or minimum of 2 years of customer-facing healthcare sales experience plus direct clinical experience in a patient care environment as a registered nurse or physician assistant
  • Proven track record of success and achievement drive
  • Ability to engage in selling conversations, overcome objections, and align client needs with product offerings
  • Strong understanding of the healthcare provider landscape
  • Ability to quickly learn and apply technical product knowledge
  • Exceptional oral and written communication skills
  • Experience with CRM systems such as Salesforce, Veeva, or similar platforms
  • Superior negotiation, problem-solving, and customer service skills
  • Valid driver’s license and clean driving record
  • Ability to travel daily within assigned territory and occasionally nationally for sales meetings
  • Curiosity, sound judgment, and ability to critically evaluate and responsibly leverage AI-enabled tools in accordance with company policies, ethical standards, and regulatory requirements
  • Ability to sit for extended periods
  • Background screening including criminal history required
