About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Drive strategic business expansion and collaboration opportunities with major U.S. cancer centers, clinics, oncology practices, KOLs, and academic medical centers
- Structure strategic plans to gain and retain new and existing clients
- Maximize client-bill contracting opportunities
- Implement laboratory services agreements with bill account institutions
- Collaborate with sales leadership and sales positions to attain company goals and objectives
- Identify and develop partnering opportunities between prospective oncology clients and Guardant Health
- Promote compliance with web-based molecular information tools
- Analyze the competitive landscape and assigned accounts, identify trends, and provide customer feedback to leadership
- Monitor sales performance against objectives
- Develop and implement a comprehensive territory business plan covering budgets, travel, territory management, and goal setting
- Work cross-functionally across Guardant Health
- Represent Guardant Health’s culture to internal and external constituents
- Travel frequently, more than 50%, throughout the territory
Requirements
What you’ll need- 2–3 years of direct account management experience in a molecular diagnostic setting with proven performance meeting or exceeding expectations
- 3–5 years of experience working with major cancer centers and clinics, oncology GPOs, large health systems, IDNs, and large oncology practices
- Demonstrated measurable revenue generation at a diagnostic, pharmaceutical, or relevant biotechnology company
- Ability to provide integrated molecular diagnostics solutions using next-generation sequencing technology
- Consultative selling skills and ability to overcome objections while connecting client needs with company capabilities
- Ability to communicate, present, and sell at the executive level
- Understanding of payer and reimbursement environments in oncology and diagnostics
- Ability to work independently, communicate proactively, manage multiple projects, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines
- Strong understanding of molecular diagnostics for oncology and the competitive landscape
- Market, customer, distribution, and product knowledge
- Knowledge of oncology, hematology, chemotherapeutics, and targeted agents
- Negotiation and customer service skills
- Strategic sales account planning skills
- Listening and problem-solving skills
- Ability to handle sensitive information confidentially
- Consistent closing abilities throughout the sales cycle
- Oral, verbal communication, and presentation skills
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office, particularly Excel and PowerPoint

- Ability to work effectively with minimal direction

- Frequent travel of more than 50% throughout the territory
- B.S. in life science, biology, business, or marketing preferred
