About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Provide scientific knowledge, business acumen, and customer engagement expertise to specialist customers in support of a GSK biologic product
- Understand the reimbursement/distribution landscape and refer customers to appropriate resources for reimbursement and distribution choices within GSK guidelines and values
- Maintain current knowledge and data regarding the treatment of Lupus and Lupus Nephritis
- Provide product educational programs and in-services to customers
- Develop strategies and tactics to generate sales
- Develop and implement customer-specific strategies for rheumatologists, nephrologists, nurses, mid-levels, and business/office managers
- Build and maintain working relationships with Marketing, Payer Relations Managers, Medical, and other GSK functions
- Effectively manage allocated resources
- Travel regularly within the assigned Rochester/Buffalo territory and engage customers in person
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution
- Ability to travel domestically as necessary, including overnight travel up to 20% in some territories
- Valid driver’s license
- Must be able and willing to drive or operate a vehicle; driving is an essential function
- Specialty Account Specialist: 5+ years of pharmaceutical or medical device experience
- Senior Specialty Account Specialist: 12+ years of pharmaceutical or medical device experience
- Preferred: experience with Buy & Bill or specialty pharmacy distribution modes
- Preferred: expertise working with Payer Reimbursement Managers
- Preferred: biologic, rare disease, immunology sales experience
