About the role

  • Accountable for the epidemiology program for at least one asset or disease area
  • Proposing and negotiating program content and budget with matrix leaders
  • Developing a Global Epidemiology Plan
  • Liaising with relevant stakeholders
  • Providing expert epidemiological insights to asset matrix teams
  • Leading and overseeing complex epidemiological studies
  • Identifying and building new opportunities, methods, and external partnerships
  • Leading departmental initiatives driving innovative solutions
  • Managing and mentoring junior staff,
  • Representing GSK in scientific interactions
  • Planning and coordinating scientific dissemination of epidemiology data
  • Partnering with external groups conducting epidemiological studies globally

Requirements

  • Doctoral degree (PhD., ScD or DrPH) in epidemiology (preferred) or a relevant discipline (i.e. health services research, health outcomes research, public health, statistics, or pharmaceutical sciences)
  • 5+ years of Epidemiology experience
  • 3+ years of experience in drug and clinical development process
  • 3+ years of experience with real world databases including but not limited to claims, electronic health records and national registers
