About the role
- Responsible for generating volume and market share growth through the development and management of a designated region
- Leading, directing, and managing the activities of Account Managers within a specific geographical area
- Guiding the team to achieve established sales and business objectives
- Participating in national, regional, and local strategic meetings
- Leading meetings with their respective team
- Monitoring field activities to ensure compliance with guidelines
- Providing timely feedback on marketing tactics and market conditions
- Collaborating closely with leadership, commercial operations, marketing, and other business units
- Recruiting, hiring, training, developing, and coaching account managers to ensure a high-performing team
- Driving awareness, understanding, utilization, and sales of a launch product
- Developing and implementing business plans to contribute to overall project success
- Executing the approved marketing plan with the regional team to maximize market penetration
- Identifying and monitoring local market conditions to build strong customer relationships
- Ensuring compliance with all field activities and company guidelines
- Conducting regular field ride-alongs with account managers for hands-on coaching
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree
- Minimum of 7 years of experience in pharmaceutical, medical, or related medical sales
- Minimum 2 years of successful district/regional field management experience
- Ability to travel domestically up to 70%, which will include overnight travel (majority of time will be spent in market)
- Valid Driver's License
- Advanced degree (preferred)
- Experience launching drug (preferred)
- Preferred experience in Hepatology
- Experience leading sales teams who engage customers in academic institution or IDN setting (preferred)
- Desirable understanding of market strategy and tactical mix (preferred)
- Proven effective interpersonal, organizational, and communication skills with the ability to advance and influence the acceptance of ideas (preferred)
- Excellent organizational skills in project planning, implementation, and cross-functional team management (preferred)
- Ability to hire, lead, coach, and mentor high-performing teams (preferred)
