About the role

  • Responsible for generating volume and market share growth through the development and management of a designated region
  • Leading, directing, and managing the activities of Account Managers within a specific geographical area
  • Guiding the team to achieve established sales and business objectives
  • Participating in national, regional, and local strategic meetings
  • Leading meetings with their respective team
  • Monitoring field activities to ensure compliance with guidelines
  • Providing timely feedback on marketing tactics and market conditions
  • Collaborating closely with leadership, commercial operations, marketing, and other business units
  • Recruiting, hiring, training, developing, and coaching account managers to ensure a high-performing team
  • Driving awareness, understanding, utilization, and sales of a launch product
  • Developing and implementing business plans to contribute to overall project success
  • Executing the approved marketing plan with the regional team to maximize market penetration
  • Identifying and monitoring local market conditions to build strong customer relationships
  • Ensuring compliance with all field activities and company guidelines
  • Conducting regular field ride-alongs with account managers for hands-on coaching

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree
  • Minimum of 7 years of experience in pharmaceutical, medical, or related medical sales
  • Minimum 2 years of successful district/regional field management experience
  • Ability to travel domestically up to 70%, which will include overnight travel (majority of time will be spent in market)
  • Valid Driver's License
  • Advanced degree (preferred)
  • Experience launching drug (preferred)
  • Preferred experience in Hepatology
  • Experience leading sales teams who engage customers in academic institution or IDN setting (preferred)
  • Desirable understanding of market strategy and tactical mix (preferred)
  • Proven effective interpersonal, organizational, and communication skills with the ability to advance and influence the acceptance of ideas (preferred)
  • Excellent organizational skills in project planning, implementation, and cross-functional team management (preferred)
  • Ability to hire, lead, coach, and mentor high-performing teams (preferred)
