About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Lead respiratory epidemiology and real-world evidence work shaping global vaccine development
  • Partner across clinical development, safety, regulatory, health outcomes, and external collaborators
  • Design and deliver studies addressing disease burden, treatment patterns, and safety
  • Own the epidemiology program for at least one asset or disease area
  • Propose and negotiate program content and budget with matrix leaders
  • Develop Global Epidemiology Plans and potentially lead cross-functional teams
  • Provide expert epidemiological insights to asset matrix teams
  • Lead and oversee complex epidemiological studies and negotiate new partnerships
  • Identify and build new opportunities, methods, and external partnerships
  • Lead departmental initiatives involving innovative tools, methodologies, and processes
  • Manage and mentor junior staff, complementary workers, or research assistants
  • Represent GSK with internal governance bodies, external regulators, and at international conferences
  • Coordinate scientific dissemination, including regulatory documents, peer-reviewed publications, and presentations
  • Partner with external groups conducting global epidemiological studies and manage collaborations

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Advanced degree in epidemiology, public health, biostatistics or a related discipline
  • Minimum of 5 years of relevant epidemiology experience within a respiratory setting in a pharmaceutical, biotech or applied research environment
  • Demonstrated experience with real-world data sources, including claims, electronic health records, and registries
  • Experience with epidemiologic study designs
  • Experience leading pharmaco-epidemiologic or RWE programs in vaccine development or lifecycle contexts
  • Ability to work effectively in a global, matrixed environment and influence cross-functional stakeholders
  • Ability to deliver complex epidemiological studies including regulatory requirements
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, including scientific writing and presentations
  • Ability to prioritize tasks, manage multiple projects, and deliver high-quality results under tight deadlines
