Mid-level Tax Analyst, Tax Calculation

About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Develop and improve workflows and procedures by critically analyzing existing processes, identifying opportunities for optimization, standardizing routines, and adopting best practices to increase operational efficiency, ensure tax compliance, and mitigate risks.
- Perform calculation and reconciliation of indirect taxes (ICMS, IPI, PIS, COFINS, ISS, and withholdings) by processing data in Tax On, ensuring correct tax determination.
- Calculate tax incentives/benefits by processing data in Tax On, ensuring correct determination of taxes due.
- Prepare and file ancillary tax obligations (SPED Fiscal, EFD Contribuições, GIA, DCTF) according to legal deadlines, including generation, validation, and submission to the tax authorities, ensuring the integrity of submitted information.
- Manage and allocate special tax credits using systems and spreadsheets, aiming at tax recovery and financial optimization.
- Provide internal technical guidance to business units and less experienced colleagues on tax documents and tax scenarios mapped in the rules matrix, to prevent errors at the source of postings.
- Monitor and implement changes in tax legislation, assessing impacts on technical review scenarios, tax calculations, reconciliations, filing obligations and payments, and evaluating effects on internal processes and systems to maintain company compliance.
- Support responses to tax audits and inspections through technical analysis, recalculation of taxes and benefits, correction of discrepancies, and provision of supporting information to the governance area to enable defense, ensuring compliance within agreed deadlines.
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor's degree in Accounting.
- Experience in calculation of indirect taxes, tax account reconciliations, assistance in preparing ancillary tax filings, and supporting tax audits/inspections.
- Intermediate proficiency in Excel, PowerPoint and Word.
- Knowledge of SAP and Tax On.
- Familiarity with the new Tax Reform.
