About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Evolve the search and indexing engine of the DTPtec/Direct Sales ecosystem from a technical and architectural perspective
Develop, optimize, and maintain asynchronous Python microservices and APIs
Design, configure, and evolve indexes, mappings, algorithms, and search strategies in ElasticSearch
Ensure high performance, low latency, and relevance in searches for the app and portal
Participate in the technical refinement of requirements with the Tech Lead and Product Manager
Collaborate on defining architectural standards, DevOps practices, CI/CD, and search service infrastructure
Identify technical bottlenecks and propose architectural improvements to support future scale
Promote quality through testing, engineering best practices, and code reviews (PRs)
Work with Product, Mobile, Frontend, and Backend teams

Requirements

What you’ll need

Strong experience in backend development using Python, with emphasis on asynchronous frameworks/paradigms
Solid background in search engineering and advanced hands-on expertise with ElasticSearch, including data modeling, weighting rules, indexing, queries, and relevance optimization
Experience with microservices architecture and creating/consuming RESTful APIs
Knowledge of DevOps practices, containerization (Docker/Kubernetes), and CI/CD pipelines
High degree of autonomy, self-management, and initiative to investigate issues and propose architectural solutions
Highly collaborative mindset and strong interpersonal communication skills
Critical perspective on software quality, testing, and code sustainability
Preferred: experience with search engines for e-commerce or high-traffic platforms
Preferred: knowledge of Java, Go, or Kotlin with a focus on ElasticSearch/search engines
Preferred: familiarity with System Design and distributed architectures
