About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Act as a Development Specialist within a squad, leading by authority and providing day-to-day technical guidance to the team
Design and implement new features and technical improvements together with other specialists
Make decisions based on data, facts, advantages and trade-offs of each approach
Ensure a gradual, organic and continuous migration of the platform from Node.js to Kotlin without interrupting current deliveries
Take ownership of tasks and the platform’s evolution, collaborating with other engineers and promoting structural changes
Lead by authority, mentoring and engaging developers and acting as a change agent
Design, code, test, deploy and maintain scalable applications
Ensure productivity and technical excellence in code and architecture
Support efficient adoption of technologies, languages and frameworks with a focus on continuous improvement
Enhance the conscious use of Generative AI and FinOps practices, optimizing cloud resources and the delivery cycle
Ensure application health through observability and root cause analysis (RCA)
Perform critical code reviews, promote pair programming and support developers’ career development

Requirements

What you’ll need

Strong technical proficiency to code productively in Node.js, Kotlin and React
Solid knowledge of design patterns and engineering best practices (Clean Code, SOLID, KISS, DRY), the AWS Well-Architected Framework, the Test Pyramid, and API integration, webhooks and messaging
Practical experience with orchestrated and choreographed architectures, monolithic and microservices architectures, Domain-Driven Design (DDD), and strategies for coexistence between different stacks during migrations
Experience with relational and NoSQL databases, including MongoDB and DynamoDB, and the ability to make decisions based on the PIE and CAP theorems
Experience using Generative AI tools applied to software development
Advanced experience in AWS architecture, containerization and modern CI/CD pipelines
Mastery of SRE practices and tools such as New Relic, Grafana, Prometheus and OpenTelemetry, covering logs, metrics and traces
Ability to engage and motivate change across different teams, earning the trust of peers and partners
Nice to have: experience with Quarkus and native compilation
Nice to have: experience in technical migrations
Nice to have: Platform Engineering mindset and the creation of reusable solutions
