About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Responsible for supporting the tariff classification activities of goods for import and export operations
  • Perform tariff classification of goods according to the NCM (Mercosur Common Nomenclature)
  • Analyze technical catalogs, drawings, datasheets and other documents to determine the correct tariff classification
  • Apply the General Rules for the Interpretation (GRI) of the Harmonized System
  • Consult and interpret Soluções de Consulta (binding rulings), Soluções de Divergência (divergence rulings) and other official interpretations issued by the tax administration
  • Prepare controls/reports and technical opinions on tariff classification of goods
  • Analyze administrative treatments/regimes applied to goods subject to import and export
  • Analyze and identify opportunities for classification under ex-tarifários (ex-tariff) measures
  • Support projects to review product master data and clean up fiscal/tax databases.

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor's degree
  • Technical English for analysis of catalogs and product specifications
  • Ability to research legal and regulatory sources
  • Basic Excel and Word
  • Knowledge of tariff/customs classification of goods
