About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Facilitate rapid-access intakes and enhanced medical support during members’ early weeks of treatment
- Use telemedicine extensively to support members
- Overcome barriers faced by members early in recovery and prioritize member safety and treatment engagement
- Provide longitudinal maintenance care to a panel of members
- Provide coverage when provider colleagues are unavailable
- Support launches into new markets and geographies using knowledge of the Groups Recovery System and culture
- Partner with medical leadership to develop and deploy new medical service lines
- Adhere to clinical policies and procedures in the GRS Manual
- Determine medical necessity and treatment appropriateness
- Prescribe buprenorphine/naloxone and other approved withdrawal medications when appropriate
- Conduct intake shifts and rapid-access telemedicine intakes across multiple geographies
- Complete intake documentation accurately and efficiently
- Coordinate with community providers and transition new members into regular maintenance groups
- Maintain a panel of maintenance members and serve as their dedicated provider at monthly provider groups
- Meet with buprenorphine patients at least every 30 days
- Discuss medical issues by phone and email between monthly visits
- Conduct medically necessary individual sessions
- Maintain confidential, timely, HIPAA-compliant medical records
- Provide coverage for makeup groups and makeup 1:1 sessions
- Participate in rotating on-call urgent prescription coverage
- Facilitate access to the state prescription drug monitoring database
- Complete encounter documentation and sign prescriptions the same business day
- Manage sessions and clinical schedules
- Follow up on interprofessional communication
- Assist with onboarding and training new providers
- Pilot initiatives to improve early-treatment outcomes
- Perform other assigned duties
Requirements
What you’ll need- CARN-AP or PMHNP with active state license in good standing
- Spanish speaking
- Board Certified in Addiction Medicine
- Willing and able to become licensed in multiple other states where Groups operates or will operate soon
- Willingness and ability to become credentialed with all government and private health plans with whom Groups Recover Together is in network
- Ability to see members in-person at several state locations
- At least 1 year of experience managing OUD with buprenorphine, preferably within the Groups Recovery System
- At least 1 year of experience working in a team-based-care setting with behavioral health providers
- At least 2 years of experience working with a similar member population, preferably within primary care or behavioral health
- Adequate internet connectivity to support telemedicine if working from home
- Reliable internet and telephone services, specifically 10M download and 5M upload package or higher, with a strong WiFi signal
- Ability to demonstrate recovery-sensitive behaviors
- Ability to maintain courteous and professional communications
