Substance Use Counselor
Groups Recover TogetherCounselor leading group therapy sessions in a mission-driven environment focused on addiction healthcare. Engaging with prescribers and community outreach to promote recovery.
About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Lead 3–4 one-hour group therapy sessions per day using a structured, evidence-based curriculum
- Facilitate group discussions using a “plug and play” approach from approved modalities to meet members where they are within the guardrails of our clinical framework
- Collaborate with prescribers, care navigators, and recovery coaches
- Monitor member progress and document outcomes
- Support a positive, recovery-oriented environment for members
- Engage in local community outreach to promote Groups’ mission
Requirements
What you’ll need- Master’s degree in the mental/behavioral health discipline OR students enrolled in Masters' programs pursuing the credentials
- Active or currently under supervision to obtain the following credentials: MFT, LMFT, LPC, LPC-MHSP, LMSW, LCSW, LADAC level 1 & 2, LSPE, Licensed Psychologist/Psy.D. RN & LPN also acceptable with experience leading therapeutic groups & supporting documentation
- Experience leading Group Therapy
- High comfort level with Technology: EMR, Telehealth software, Google products (Gmail, Google Docs/Sheets/Drive), mobile apps, etc.
- Compassion, collaboration, commitment to quality care, and an investment in member success
- Ability to work 2-3 evenings per week up to 9pm as needed
