Substance Use Counselor
Groups Recover TogetherCounselor leading dynamic group therapy sessions for a recovery community. Collaborating with care teams and promoting a positive recovery-oriented environment.
About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Lead 3–4 one-hour group therapy sessions per day using a structured, evidence-based curriculum.
- Facilitate group discussions using a “plug and play” approach from approved modalities to meet members where they are within the guardrails of our clinical framework.
- Collaborate with prescribers, care navigators, and recovery coaches.
- Monitor member progress and document outcomes.
- Support a positive, recovery-oriented environment for members.
- Engage in local community outreach to promote Groups’ mission.
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor’s degree
- An active behavioral health licensure in the state of Kentucky
- Minimum two years of experience leading group therapy in a SUD setting
- High comfort level with Technology: EMR, Telehealth software, Google products (Gmail, Google Docs/Sheets/Drive), mobile apps, etc.
- Compassion, collaboration, commitment to quality care, and investment in member success
- Ability to work 2-3 evenings per week up to 9pm as needed
- Other preferred backgrounds, experience, and skills include: mental health, social work, substance use disorder treatment, therapy, human services, social services, medication assisted treatment or MAT.
