About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Act as a strategic partner to management and ensure sound financial, administrative, and operational governance of the company;
  • Oversee the full accounting cycle and financial operations;
  • Review and approve monthly and annual financial statements;
  • Prepare, monitor, and present the company budgets;
  • Ensure financial, tax, and administrative compliance;
  • Establish and maintain effective internal controls;
  • Oversee cash forecasting and treasury reporting;
  • Monitor project collections and receivables;
  • Authorize and supervise payment requests and cheque releases;
  • Optimize liquidity and cash flow management;
  • Participate in the management of banking and financial relationships;
  • Analyze costs, margins, and budget variances;
  • Produce and analyze performance indicators (KPIs) and provide strategic recommendations;
  • Support management in financial and operational decision-making;
  • Lead continuous improvement and optimization projects for financial and administrative processes;
  • Mentor and support the administrative, accounting, and financial analyst teams;
  • Participate in the implementation and optimization of systems and software (e.g., Procore);

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field;
  • CPA designation (major asset);
  • Minimum of 7 to 12 years’ experience in finance and accounting;
  • At least 3 years of experience in team management and staff supervision;
  • Experience in construction, real estate development, or project management;
  • Strong understanding of financial statements and the full accounting cycle;
  • Solid expertise in cash management and internal controls;
  • Knowledge of financial aspects specific to construction and real estate development projects;
  • Advanced Excel skills and proficiency with accounting/ERP systems;
  • Familiarity with Power BI (analysis, implementation, KPI — an asset);
  • Familiarity with Procore or similar software (an asset);
  • Strong change management, continuous improvement, and process optimization skills;
  • Engaging leadership, autonomy, and the ability to thrive in a growing environment.
