About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Map and diagnose operational processes using value-stream and process mapping
  • Identify waste, rework loops, and failure points
  • Run structured improvement initiatives using DMAIC or equivalent methods
  • Re-engineer processes to make them faster, cleaner, more reliable, and efficient
  • Pull and analyze operational data to locate, size, and measure process problems and improvements
  • Partner with the operations data product owner on trusted measures
  • Own the process-improvement portfolio, prioritize and sequence work, and manage the backlog
  • Represent operations to delivery teams
  • Design to-be processes and solution requirements with technology teams
  • Partner with internal engineering, DSS, and vendor delivery teams on system enhancements, integrations, and automation
  • Collaborate with IT, Distribution, Compliance, Product, Audit, operational leadership, front-line leaders, quality, and process-improvement teams

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • 8+ years in process engineering, continuous improvement, or a data-heavy process-analyst role
  • Track record of measurably improving processes in cycle time, rework, quality, or cost
  • Prior experience in insurance, financial services, or another regulated industry highly desired
  • Lean / Six Sigma discipline; Green Belt minimum
  • Comfortable running DMAIC and standard process-mapping methods
  • Strong data analysis experience, including pulling, interrogating, and interpreting operational data
  • Ability to design to-be processes and supporting systems or automation
  • Ability to write clear requirements and partner with delivery teams
  • Product-owner instincts, including prioritizing and sequencing work and holding a backlog
  • Understanding of operations processes and projects
  • Ability to work across operations, engineering, vendors, and leadership
  • Contact-center / customer-operations process experience preferred
  • Familiarity with automation and AI applications preferred
  • Prior experience with BI tooling, Visio or Lucidchart preferred
  • SQL or a BI tool experience preferred but not required
  • Ability to understand work processes before planning changes
  • Empathy for teams whose work is being changed
  • Ability to give and receive feedback
  • Flexibility when priorities shift
  • Resilience, calmness, and a good-humored attitude when plans change
