About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Lead the technology function, providing strategic and operational leadership across engineering, architecture, platforms, security, technology operations and IT service delivery
- Ensure technology investments, systems, and capabilities support business objectives, product strategy, and future growth
- Drive technical excellence, engineering efficiency, platform reliability, and continuous improvement
- Lead technology security, risk, and compliance activities, including the ISO 27001 programme
- Develop and inspire the engineering team, fostering a high-performance and collaborative culture
- Own and evolve the technical architecture of core systems and platforms
- Ensure effective technical planning, prioritisation, and risk management across the engineering function
- Oversee IT operations, ensuring a secure, reliable, and scalable technology environment
- Act as a key point of contact for IT service performance, risks, and issues
- Collaborate with senior stakeholders to translate requirements into scalable technical solutions
- Continuously improve engineering productivity through better tooling, automation, and process optimisation
- Ensure systems and practices align with relevant regulatory and data protection requirements
Requirements
What you’ll need- Extensive experience in technology leadership roles
- Strong technical knowledge in software engineering, architecture, and IT service delivery
- Proven ability to lead teams and develop high-performance cultures
- Familiarity with compliance and security standards, particularly ISO 27001
- Experience with managing IT operations and service delivery
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Knowledge of emerging technologies and how they can support business objectives
- Excellent communication skills, capable of translating technical concepts for non-technical audiences
