About the role

  • Participate in operating, maintaining, and designing GRNET's IP, BGP/MPLS, Data Center networks, and the Greek Internet Exchange.
  • Contribute to automating network configuration generation and deployment.
  • Contribute to creating, enhancing, and maintaining network management and monitoring tools.
  • Create and maintain technical documentation.

Requirements

  • Solid understanding of networking fundamentals (TCP/IP, routing protocols, OSI Layer 2/3/4)
  • In depth understanding of networking technologies (BGP, ISIS, EVPN, MPLS, VXLAN)
  • Working experience in ISP and/or Data Center networks
  • Comfortably able to work in a UNIX/LINUX environment
  • Programming skills, preferably Python
  • Experience with configuration management/orchestration tools (Ansible, Puppet, Terraform, etc)
  • Experience in UNIX/LINUX systems administration
  • Experience with Docker
