About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Responsible for leading, coordinating, and ensuring the successful execution of modernization initiatives supporting the Veterans Health Administration (VHA) Veterans Family Member Program (VFMP) Modernization Portfolio.
  • Provides oversight of projects from initiation through completion, ensuring all scope, schedule, quality, and contractual requirements are met while supporting the continued delivery of modernization solutions that improve operational efficiency, scalability, and service delivery.
  • Serves as the primary coordinator across Government stakeholders, Integrated Project Teams (IPTs), vendors, and technical teams to ensure projects are delivered in full, without barriers or partial solutions.
  • Lead the planning, execution, monitoring, and delivery of modernization initiatives within the VFMP Modernization Portfolio.
  • Ensure all project deliverables are completed in accordance with contract requirements, Government standards, and approved project governance processes.
  • Provide clear direction to project teams by defining work requirements, assigning responsibilities, identifying priorities, and establishing the most efficient path for successful project completion.
  • Coordinate cross-functional efforts involving business, operational, technical, and vendor stakeholders to ensure seamless project execution.
  • Identify, manage, and mitigate project risks, dependencies, and issues that may impact project success, with particular emphasis on EDI-related dependencies.
  • Support modernization initiatives that improve efficiency across high-volume business operations.
  • Monitor project performance using established metrics and provide regular status reporting to Government leadership and stakeholders.
  • Facilitate communication among Government program offices, contractors, vendors, and Integrated Project Teams (IPTs).

Requirements
