Key responsibilities & impact
  • Assist in determining the suitability of donors
  • Establish rapport with donors to ensure customer happiness while maintaining donor confidentiality

  • Monitor donors and equipment to ensure donor health and product quality
  • Set up, disconnect, and operate automated plasmapheresis machines
  • Disconnect and dispose of contaminated disposable equipment
  • Work in a plasma center with exposure to biological fluids, infectious organisms, electrical equipment, and extreme cold in the plasma freezer
  • Use required personal protective equipment

Requirements

  • High School diploma or GED
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule
  • Interest in making a difference in the world
  • Obtains required state licensures or certifications where applicable
  • Ability to comprehend and follow instructions
  • Ability to listen to and understand spoken information
  • Ability to perform within oral or written instructions
  • Ability to relate sensitive information to diverse groups
  • Ability to stand for 6 to 8 hours per day
  • Ability to bend and twist neck and waist for 1-2 hours per day
  • Frequent hand movement of both hands and precise coordinated finger, hand, and wrist movements
  • Frequent foot movement; ability to walk up to 6-8 hours per day
  • Ability to lift 15 lbs., with a maximum lift of 50 lbs.
  • Hearing acuity essential
