About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Maintain the ability to perform all tasks within the plasma center
  • Fulfill production employee duties and supervise donor flow
  • Maintain familiarity and compliance with state and federal regulations, FDA-approved SOPs, OSHA, CLIA, cGMP, and internal procedures
  • Supervise donor selection, plasma collection, and manufacturing records
  • Attend required training sessions and staff meetings
  • Ensure accurate and thorough documentation
  • Maintain the facility in a neat and clean condition and keep equipment in good working order
  • Submit timely and accurate reports to the Center Manager and/or Assistant Manager
  • Assist in controlling center donor funds
  • Assist with training new employees and retraining current employees
  • Maintain communication with other service areas to ensure accurate documentation and quality
  • Build rapport with donors and support long-term donation through customer satisfaction
  • Report unsafe situations or conditions
  • May be trained to repair plasma center equipment
  • Assist the Center Manager and/or Assistant Manager with tasks supporting company objectives

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • High school diploma or GED
  • Certified as a Phlebotomist, Donor Processor, Plasma Processor, and Designated Trainer
  • Typically requires 4 years of related experience performing phlebotomy, donor processing, and plasma processing duties
  • Demonstrated proficiency in handling difficult situations
  • Ability to work in a plasma center with exposure to biological fluids and potentially infectious organisms
  • Ability to use electrical office and laboratory equipment
  • Ability to work in extreme cold below 32 degrees F while performing functions in plasma freezers
  • Ability to wear required personal protective equipment, including protective eyewear, garments, gloves, and cold-gear
  • Ability to stand for 4 to 6 hours per day and sit for 1 to 2 hours per day
  • Ability to bend and twist the neck for 1 to 2 hours per day
  • Frequent hand, finger, wrist, and foot movement; ability to squat, crouch, or sit on one's heels occasionally
  • Ability to lift 15 lbs. routinely, with a maximum lift of 50 lbs.
  • Essential hearing acuity and correctable color, near, and far vision
  • Ability to communicate and understand information presented through spoken words and sentences
  • Ability to work independently and follow oral or written instructions
  • Ability to perform a wide range of tasks under variable demands and changing conditions
  • Ability to relate sensitive information to diverse groups
