Key responsibilities & impact

Assist in determining the suitability of donors
Establish rapport with donors to ensure overall customer happiness while ensuring donor confidentiality
Respond to and assist with handling donor reactions
Monitor donors and equipment to ensure donor health and product quality
Set up, disconnect, and operate automated plasmapheresis machines
Disconnect and dispose of contaminated disposable equipment
Work in a plasma center while following occupational safety and handling requirements

Requirements

High School diploma or GED
Superior customer service standards
Ability to work a flexible schedule
Interest in making a difference in the world
Obtains required state licensures or certifications where applicable
Patient, reliable, and committed to keeping donors comfortable and happy
Ability to comprehend and follow oral and written instructions
Ability to listen to and understand spoken information
Ability to relate sensitive information to diverse groups
Ability to work standing for 6 to 8 hours per day
Ability to bend and twist the neck and waist for 1–2 hours per day
Frequent hand movement and ability to make fast, simple movements of the fingers, hands, and wrists
Ability to make precise coordinated finger movements to grasp and manipulate objects
Ability to perform frequent foot movement and occasionally squat, crouch, or sit on heels
Ability to walk up to 6–8 hours per day
Ability to lift 15 lbs lightly, with a maximum lift of 50 lbs
Ability to reach below shoulder height

Near and far vision correctable to 20/30 in one eye and 20/100 in the other eye
Ability to work around biological fluids, potentially infectious organisms, electrical office and laboratory equipment, and temperatures below 32°F
