About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Perform physical examinations and establish medical history to determine donor suitability
Build rapport with donors to ensure overall customer satisfaction
Ensure donor and staff confidentiality
Provide donor awareness regarding potential hazards
Provide donor education regarding general health and counsel donors regarding unacceptable test results
Evaluate and manage donor injuries and adverse events
Evaluate illness and medication history to ensure continued donor suitability
Assist in employee training
Administer the employee Hepatitis Vaccine program

Requirements

What you’ll need

Educated and currently certified/licensed in the state of employment as a Licensed Practical Nurse or Licensed Vocational Nurse
Current CPR certification required
Ability to stand and sit for 2 to 4 hours per day each
Ability to bend and twist the neck for 1 to 2 hours per day
Frequent hand movement and ability to make fast, precise finger, hand, and wrist movements
Ability to make precise coordinated finger movements to grasp and manipulate objects
Ability to squat, crouch, or sit on heels occasionally
Ability to lift 15 lbs. lightly and up to 50 lbs. maximum
Hearing acuity essential
Correctable near and far vision requirements, including 20/30 in one eye and 20/100 in the other
Ability to communicate and understand spoken information
Ability to work independently and follow oral or written instructions
Ability to perform varied tasks under changing conditions
Ability to relate sensitive information to diverse groups
Ability to work with biological fluids and potential infectious organisms
Ability to work with electrical office and laboratory equipment
Ability to work in temperatures below 32°F in plasma freezers
Must use required personal protective equipment, including protective eyewear, garments, gloves, and cold gear
