Working Student – Sales, New Client Acquisition
grievySales support for grievy, helping to acquire more funeral partners through calls and leads management. Engaging in collaboration with the sales team and contributing ideas.
About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- You help grievy win more funeral directors as partners — thereby reaching more people in mourning.
- Initial phone outreach: You call funeral directors, introduce grievy and spark interest in a partnership.
- Research and maintain leads: You build our list of potential funeral directors in HubSpot and keep it up to date.
- Qualify and prepare appointments: You determine which funeral directors are a good fit for grievy and book qualified meetings for our sales team.
- Think proactively, not just execute: You recognize which approaches work and which don’t, and contribute your ideas — your opinion matters from day one.
- Work closely with the team: You coordinate directly with our sales representative and the founders.
Requirements
What you’ll need- You enjoy making phone calls and aren’t put off by a “no.”
- You communicate clearly, warmly and persuasively, striking the right tone.
- You work carefully and reliably: you don’t book appointments at any cost but arrange well-prepared conversations that our sales team can actually work with.
- You’re motivated to make an impact. You want to see and celebrate successes.
- You have excellent German language skills.
- Career changers are explicitly welcome.
- No prior sales background required. If you’ve worked in hospitality, retail, an ice cream shop or in service, you already bring the most important skills: you can approach people, remain friendly under pressure and don’t give up quickly.
- These abilities matter more to us than a CV full of sales experience. Don’t hesitate to apply — we’ll teach you the rest.
Benefits
Comp & perks- Competitive pay plus commission: €15–17 per hour depending on experience, and after the probationary period an attractive commission for every booked appointment.
- Flexible alongside studies or life: whether as a working student, part-time or a mini-job, we’ll find a model that fits you.
- Typically 8–20 hours per week, with flexible hours and the option to work from home.
- Reduce hours during exam periods and increase them during semester breaks.
- A real entry opportunity, not filler: learn sales from the ground up through intensive onboarding, regular feedback and professional sales workshops.
- Paid vacation: even as a working student or mini-job you receive paid vacation — which isn’t a given in many temporary jobs.
- Your work has purpose: every funeral director you win helps more people in mourning get support. You see the impact of your efforts directly.
- Close to the action: work closely with our sales team and the founders, contribute ideas and help shape the company.
- Free Urban Sports Club membership: train, swim, do yoga — nationwide, fully paid by us.
- Startup environment in Cologne: modern co-working near the university, a young, friendly team and shared events like rooftop barbecues.
