grievy

Sales role at grievy reaching out to funeral homes to promote grief support solutions. Engaging potential partners and collaborating closely with the sales team.

About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • You will help grievy win more funeral directors as partners — and thereby reach more bereaved people.
  • Initial phone outreach: You call funeral directors, introduce grievy, and spark interest in a partnership.
  • This is the core of your role — you will make calls daily and conduct many conversations.
  • Research and maintain leads: You build our list of prospective funeral directors in HubSpot and keep it up to date.
  • Qualify and prepare appointments: You determine which funeral directors are a good fit for grievy and schedule qualified meetings for our sales team.
  • Think proactively, not just execute: You notice which approaches work and which don't, and contribute your ideas — your opinion matters from day one.
  • Work closely with the team: You coordinate directly with our salesperson and the founders.

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • You enjoy making phone calls and aren’t deterred by a “no”.
  • You communicate clearly, warmly and persuasively, striking the right tone.
  • You work carefully and reliably: you don’t book appointments at any cost but set up well-prepared conversations that our sales team can actually work with.
  • You are motivated to make an impact and want to see and celebrate successes.
  • You have very good German language skills.
  • Career changers are explicitly welcome. No previous sales background is required.
  • If you have worked in hospitality, retail, at an ice cream shop or in service roles, you already bring the most important qualities: you can approach people, remain friendly under pressure, and don’t give up easily.

Benefits

Comp & perks
  • Fair pay plus commission: €15–17 per hour, depending on experience, and after the probationary period an attractive commission for each booked appointment.
  • Flexible alongside studies or life: Whether as a working student, in part-time or as a mini-job, we will find a model that suits you.
  • Typically 8–20 hours per week, with flexible hours and the possibility to work from home.
  • You can reduce hours during exam periods and increase them during semester breaks.
  • A real entry, not filler: You will learn sales from the ground up — through in-depth onboarding, regular feedback and professional sales workshops.
  • Paid vacation: Even as a working student or mini-job employee you receive paid leave — which is not always a given in many temporary jobs.
  • Your work has purpose: Every funeral director you win helps ensure more bereaved people find support.
  • Free Urban Sports Club membership: training, swimming, yoga — across Germany, fully paid by us.
  • Startup environment in Cologne: modern co-working near the university, a young, friendly team and joint events like rooftop barbecues.
