Field Operations Technician – Seasonal
GridwareField Operations Technician coordinating installation of Gridware's sensing systems on utility infrastructure. Working outdoors in dynamic environments across Northern California regions.
About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Plan and oversee the installation of Gridware sensing devices on utility poles and related infrastructure.
- Coordinate closely with utility line crews and contractors to ensure safe and efficient execution of field activities.
- Provide clear direction, troubleshooting support, and installation guidance throughout deployment operations.
- Conduct site assessments and verify site readiness prior to installation activities.
- Identify, document, and resolve technical and operational issues encountered in the field.
- Serve as a professional representative of Gridware when interacting with utility personnel, contractors, local authorities, and community stakeholders.
- Maintain accurate records of installation activities, site conditions, issues encountered, and corrective actions using Gridware’s internal tools.
- Ensure all work is completed in accordance with safety requirements, project specifications, and utility standards.
Requirements
What you’ll need- 1–3 years of experience in field operations, utility work, technical support, construction, telecommunications, surveying, mapping, or a related field.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to provide direction and work effectively alongside contractors and utility crews.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision in outdoor field environments.
- Strong proficiency in spoken and written English.
- Comfortable using mobile applications, digital tools, and field documentation systems.
